We recently completed the full installation and commissioning of a MAYERS rack conveyor commercial dishwasher at the central canteen of a large overseas boarding school. The system is now running stably, handling the complete daily tableware cleaning needs for 2,000 teachers and students across all three meals.
Prior to the upgrade, the school relied entirely on manual dishwashing. With heavy foot traffic and a wide variety of tableware — from flat plates and deep soup bowls to rectangular trays and irregular stainless steel cookware — the kitchen faced constant pressure. The canteen needed 7–8 full-time staff working rotating shifts, resulting in high labor costs and frequent turnover. Cleaning quality was inconsistent, with grease and food residue often remaining in corners. Basic hand-washing methods failed to meet strict local health authority sanitization requirements, leading to repeated inspection issues. Additionally, the lack of proper drying caused water stains, bacterial risks, and major backlogs during peak hours, significantly slowing down meal service.
The new conveyor commercial dishwasher system integrates high-pressure washing, high-temperature sanitization, and hot air drying into one seamless automated process. Built with food-grade 304 stainless steel, it efficiently handles all shapes and sizes of tableware without the need for pre-sorting. Staff simply load the racks, and clean, sanitized, and dried items come out at the other end — no extra manual wiping required.
With powerful constant high-temperature spray, the machine achieves over 95% better cleaning performance than manual methods while fully complying with European and American campus food hygiene standards. Its continuous conveyor design supports non-stop operation during busy meal periods, and the intuitive control panel with emergency stop makes it easy for regular kitchen staff to operate after minimal training.

Since commissioning, the school has dramatically reduced labor needs from 7–8 workers to just 1–2 staff for loading and unloading. Daily water and electricity consumption has also decreased thanks to the intelligent closed-loop circulation system. Most importantly, the long-standing issues of slow cleaning, substandard sanitization, high costs, and irregular tableware handling have all been resolved. The school’s facility team has expressed strong satisfaction with the stable performance and improved kitchen efficiency.
This successful project demonstrates how MAYERS conveyor dishwashers can deliver practical, cost-effective automation for large-scale school canteens. It has become a valuable reference for similar institutions seeking reliable kitchen upgrades.
